Artists

The people doing the work.

Duncanville’s cultural life is made by painters, photographers, woodworkers, fiber artists, theater makers, and musicians who live here, work here, and show their work here. This page introduces them.

Ellafair 2026 cohort

Sixteen working Duncanville artists were selected as the inaugural cohort for Ellafair 2026, the Foundation’s annual celebration of local visual arts. Their work was shown at the D.L. Hopkins Jr. Senior Center on May 8 and 9, 2026. The cohort represents a snapshot of who is active in Duncanville visual arts at this moment.

Full features coming.

The Foundation is developing a weekly artist spotlight that will run alongside The Tuesday Note. Each spotlight is a working profile of one Duncanville artist: their practice, their materials, where their work can be seen, and how to commission or collect it.

The series launches summer 2026. Subscribe to The Tuesday Note to receive each spotlight as it publishes.

Beyond Ellafair

The Ellafair cohort is one entry point into Duncanville’s working artist community, but it is not the full picture. Theater makers at the Duncanville Community Theatre, musicians playing the Armstrong Park summer series, teaching artists working through the Public Library and the Senior Center, and the city’s independent makers all contribute to the cultural life the .fyi covers each week.

As the spotlight series develops, it will move beyond the Ellafair cohort to feature artists across disciplines: theater, music, literary work, craft, and the working studios that don’t always show in juried exhibitions.

Are you a Duncanville artist?

If you live or work in Duncanville and would like to be considered for a future spotlight, please send a note through the submission form with “Artist spotlight” in the message. Include a few sentences about your practice, a link to your work if available, and how to reach you. The Foundation reviews submissions on the same Tuesday cadence as events.
