Arts and culture in Duncanville lives in a handful of buildings and one open-air park. Here’s where to find it, and what each place is known for.
Duncanville’s city-designated Cultural District anchors downtown along James Collins Boulevard, spanning Armstrong Park and the civic core that surrounds it. The district was established by the City of Duncanville to recognize and develop a concentrated zone of cultural activity, public art, and community life.
Most of the venues below sit inside or directly alongside the district.

The cultural center of gravity for outdoor programming in Duncanville. Armstrong Park hosts the Independence Day celebration, BloomFest, Movies in the Park, and seasonal community events. The Poe-Hobden Amphitheater seats audiences for live music and performance under the open sky.

Library
The Public Library hosts ongoing arts programming for all ages, including The Brush Club painting workshops, drawing groups, author events, and a children’s literary calendar. Programming is free and most classes welcome drop-in attendance.

Senior Center
A community hub for adults 50 and over, with classes in ceramics, dance, and exercise, plus rotating programming throughout the year. The Center’s dining hall and stage make it a working venue for arts events of city-wide interest, including the Foundation’s annual Ellafair celebration.

Performing Arts
A volunteer-led community theatre on Main Street that produces a six-show season of plays, musicals, and revues. Performances are held Wednesday through Saturday evenings, with Sunday matinees for some productions.

Event Venue
A flexible event space on south Main Street used for larger productions, ticketed stage shows, and community-scale gatherings. Recent and upcoming programming has included touring stageplays and music events.

Foundation HQ
The Foundation’s downtown home, opened in 2025 as a working office and meeting space for arts programming, board sessions, and partner conversations. Future programming will include small-format events and exhibitions in the storefront.

Duncanville sits in the Best Southwest area of Dallas County, roughly fifteen minutes from downtown Dallas and twenty minutes from Dallas Love Field. The Cultural District is walkable along James Collins Boulevard, with free parking at each venue. The Duncanville Community Theatre and Arts Junction are a short drive west on Center Street toward Main.
